Chadwick I am biased to this memoir as these are my own father's words. They are small fond remembrances of the son of immigrants who grew up to be a successful businessman, devoted husband, beloved father, cherished grandfather, and revered by all who know him. Over the last few years, Dad has been sending me his stories, and I've been stockpiling them. Not until he suffered a heart attack over the Christmas holiday 2014, did I think to read them over, and what I discovered was a family treasure trove of stories by one of the greatest storytellers I know. This project was only to be a book available for the private collection of family members, but when friends and acquaintances began asking for copies, we decided to release it. We hope you enjoy as much as we all do. For those of you with storytelling grandparents or parents of your own, start collecting their stories--they are precious. About the Author Jim Hacking has practiced law in the greater St. Louis area since 1997. For the past seven years, Jim’s practice has been devoted almost exclusively to immigration law. Jim handles spouse & employment visas, citizenship, asylum and deportation cases. Jim applies his litigation skills to his immigration practice, successfully litigating numerous cases involving naturalization and green card delays. Jim has been active in local civic affairs. He has been a volunteer attorney through Legal Services of Eastern Missouri since he started practicing law. Jim was a founding member of the St. Louis Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and served as the group’s executive director for two years. He has served on the U.S. Attorney’s Hate Crimes Task Force and currently chairs the Muslim Task Force of the ACLU of Eastern Missouri. In 2009, he received the Eugene H. Buder Award from the ACLU of Eastern Missouri as volunteer of the year. In 2009, Jim was elected to the inaugural board of Missouri Immigrants & Refugee Advocates, an organization dedicated to fighting for the rights of immigrants and refugees. In 2010, Legal Services of Eastern Missouri awarded Jim the F. Wm. McCalpin Pro Bono Award for his efforts advocating for low income individuals in the St. Louis area. Jim has also taught as an adjunct professor at the SLU Law School. In 2004, the Riverfront Times named Jim the Best Lawyer in St. Louis. Jim graduated with honors from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he served as Editor in Chief of the Saint Louis University Law Journal. His article “Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Does New Jersey’s Megan’s Law Violate The Constitution Ban On The Passage Of Ex Post Facto Legislation?” appeared in the 41st Edition of the Law Journal.Jim has been featured in The New York Times, the Washington Post and on National Public Radio. By Gabriel Silva Man, I wish I have read this book on my freshman year of college!What I most liked about the book is that Hacking is really straight forward. He explains how it works and what would be the most efficient path to follow to stay here. And all based on examples of his clients that succeed doing what Hacking calls the "10 key steps to follow to better your chances of staying in the U.S"I would recommend all the International Students to read this book! Specially if you just got in the United States and have plans on staying here..Straight forward, easy reading, great content!

Her moving memoir of her daughter's early life with epilepsy is an intimate portrayal of motherhood, medical mazes and fierce, unwavering love. I highly, highly recommend this book. You will be left wanting more.

A brave and poetic look at extreme parenting By Margaret Elizabeth Aquino's moving memoir is the perfect example of how ebooks can enhance the reading landscape. Spare and concise--it probably took me less than an hour to read the whole thing--it is clearly too short to be a full length book, but it is too long and varied to be an essay. The brevity here is used to breathtaking effect, a skilled writer's choice to let readers experience the raw and brutal pain that often comes with loving and parenting a child with a chronic illness or disability. We live in a cultural landscape that tells us that all problems have quick fixes and that mothers in particular are responsible for finding those fixes for their children. As Aquino takes us through her family's frustrating journey to find a workable treatment for her daughter's intractable and severe epilepsy the reality of what Aquino in other places calls "extreme parenting" and the shortcomings of the medical establishment became apparent. How she does it By Ellen Collins This is a daunting, brave and strangely hopeful memoir about raising a child with a severe disability.I am a faithful reader of Elizabeth Aquino's blog, and I have grown to love her honest, masterful writing. Google her, if you want to hear more of her story and musings.I especially have been encouraged to hear how well Sophie, Ms. Aquino's nineteen year old daughter with a severe seizure disorder is responding to high CBD medical marijuana.Everyone should read this...

He spent ten years competing on the national fighting circuits and after he retired from competitive fighting began to focus his training more towards reality based systems adding arts such as The Keysi Fighting Method, Pencak Silat, Jeet Kune Do and Brazilian Jui Jitsui to his repertoire. He opened his very first full time martial arts school in Windsor, Berkshire, UK in 2002, followed soon after by a second in Ascot, Berkshire, UK a third in Bracknell, Berkshire, UK and a fourth affiliated school in Wokingham, Berkshire, UK. These are now some of the biggest martial arts schools in the area. He has written several books on Martial Arts including a No1 Best seller on Amazon. He writes a regular monthly column for the No1 selling martial arts magazine in the UK, 'Martial Arts Illustrated'. He has been introduced into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame and taught people from every walk of life including celebrities, footballers, pop stars and Hollywood movie stars. Through his thirty plus years in Martial Arts he has been fortunate enough to work with and train under some of the greatest instructors in the world.

Solid advice from a pro By John I have over 6 years of MA experience and I have worked the door at nightclubs and bars and also public security and have been in real physical confrontations, aka fights. This book rings very true and while basic (some will mistake this for superficiality), the insights are deep. The chapter on body areas to target is worth the price of admission alone. He describes what works and what doesn't. This is all very solid advice and I recommend this short book.
