3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. This book proves that yoga IS for men too. It is easy to read and is a great introduction to yoga. By Rosemary Ainley I got this book to show my husband that men can do yoga too. I have to admit, I picked up some great pointers myself.I liked the 'no nonsense' writing style and straight forward descriptions. I think a lot of men are put off yoga because they think it is all 'religious chanting' and not a serious work out. The author shot that myth right out of the water in the opening pages by comparing the 'chanting' to sports coaching or motivational speeches. They pointed out that many professional athletes use yoga to compliment their training and to help them focus. They also added that yoga masters have spectacular abdominal muscles which I am sure will make a lot of guys sit up and take notice.The author anticipates exactly what the reader would be thinking or doing during the poses and offers tips to help things like balance.I would recommend this book to any guy (or girl) wanting to learn about the basics of yoga.

This book has been really helpful to me and I have even showed some of my 'yoga hating friends' this book and they have totally changed their view on yoga.
