About the Author J Kent Preyer was born and raised in southern Missouri. He now resides in northern California with his fiancé and two cats. Much of this book was written while living on a ranch where wildflowers grew on the hillsides in great abundance.

I came across the author on facebook .. and ordered it over the weekend . a great read . enjoyable with characters you can love and some you can hate ...I love to read and this was a joy to read
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. glad I donated By lynda draper I actually found this on Kickstarter. It caught my interest, glad I donated, it exceeded my expectations. I found his writing intelligent, witty, and fun. I liked how he addressed issues from all views. I saw myself, my friends and family in these pages. I loved these characters, even Nashville became one. Learning about Nashville was an added bonus I didn't expect. I just finished reading this book and I miss the characters already, I think I am going to pick it back up and read it again !

(don't know why mama and slapping her are involved but i hear it a lot)As you can tell from the title it takes place in TN and involves two well-known families. I WILL be in line when the movie is made, because J.Kent Preyer has created characters that pop off the page. Your eyes will not be able to gobble up the words fast enough! The storyline is a good one...two families with a not-so-distant past connection, are forced to come together for their sons. I'll leave it at that... It's a hoot. There are scenes that will make you laugh out loud. And yet.. there is an underlying seriousness, a deeper message about love, really. And family. And what TRULY matters in life.The Thanksgiving feed the homeless scene? In my mind i was watching a movie.... The Petula character needs the snot slapped outta her but good lord you gotta love her at the same time.... This book deserves 10 stars, not five.
