The answer to requests for country songs By Stella Fitzgibbons If you live in the South, or even if you don't, you will get requests for some country music.This book has some standards (Hank Williams's best-known) and some more recent songs, all written in the authentic slip-note style (occasionally melody in the alto line, grace notes and tremolos galore) made popular by Floyd Cramer. Useful to learn this style since you can apply it to gospel piano, which was created by piano players who worked Saturday nights in honkytonks and Sunday mornings at church. There is a tendency for all of these to sound kind of alike, but that's the genre; I'm grateful this book is there to help me handle requests. Difficulty intermediate to late intermediate.
