Good intro to uke riffs By true britty This is a good book for a beginner uke player who wants to try something besides strumming chords.There is only one riff, Tom Petty's Free Falling, that incorporates chords. The other riffs are fingerpicked, which gets you moving around the fretboard to locate notes. Hammer ons, pull offs, slides and bends are used sparingly and the author explains how to do them.Many examples are well known: the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy. And there are newer examples too. The familiarity is a good thing because the book is not in standard notation, so you don't know how long to hold each note. You will have to work from memory or pull up the song on YouTube or Spotify. Which is a good idea anyway.

This book instructs the reader on how to read tabs incase you are a beginner and then includes how to play riffs on a great selection of songs. Very fun and it will impress your party guests when you play the riffs!
