Nothing, in this day, and especially in this country of free thought and liberty of speech, is taken for granted merely because it can lay claim to the honors of a great antiquity, or can number thousands or millions of adherents. Vast differences are to be observed in governments, churches, creeds and social practices; and all, however opposite and apparently antagonistic, are working out a solution to the problem -"What is Truth?"Conservatism is fast dying out, hidden and smothered by the ever-flowing tidal-waves of progression. Radicalism ceases to become radical, by the daily and hourly recurrence of startling discoveries, and new, unheard-of, and unexpected adaptations of old laws. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. more a biography of the founder of homeopathy than anything else By M Segalis Assigning a star rating to this book is difficult, because it is a decent brief biography of the physician generally considered to be the father of homeopathic medicine, but its title leads one to expect some sort of explanation of the reasons one might prefer homeopathic medicine to the predominant type of medicine (allopathic medicine) practiced in North America, most of Europe, and many other places. If such an "apology" for homeopathy is to be found in this book, it is well-hidden. Something of an argument for considering homeopathy to be less risky to the patient than is an allopathic approach is presented, but even this seems incidental to the bulk of the work, which is a rather uncritical and admiring brief story of the life of Dr Hahnemann.
