This book is split into three parts, each dedicated to an aspect of industrial psychology: finding the right employee for the job, procuring the best performance of the job, and obtaining the most effective end result. Although nearly 100 years have passed since the original publication of this book, and some of the terminology and social conceptions have changed (i.e. women in the workforce), this work by Munsterberg remains relevant. Industry is ever changing and therefore the ways that people interact with it also stands to be changed from time to time in the interest of efficiency. I highly recommend this book for students of psychology.

But in a great way!Let me begin again by saying; I still don't like Anna. She is the woman your mamma warned you about. She doesn't give up, but she just doesn't seem like she wants to make up her mind either. Now, Nicky boy I love for finally telling it straight to her (kind of), but yet he also confuses me with his 'this and that' changes. Lisa shocking is the oddest one of the characters, but at least the chicka knows what she want...even if it isn't hers.I must say that once more the characters are so well written that the way I don't like them has gotten personal, but it just ones more shows Morales' great writing.I was surprised at the odd twists and turns the book once more took. Yet, I was far from prepared or even suspected the ending. I needed to do more than just a double take when reading the final chapter, because I thought I was reading things. It is a truly great ending that seems fitting and kept me thinking, what the hell!

However, in my opinion, this one is top heavy with history and has very little story. I realize the purpose, but look forward to the next installment , which I hope will help personalize the characters.

Young I think I enjoyed this 2nd book in the Culpepper Saga series better than 'I, John Culpepper'. I find it amazing that Lori can write with such clarity that the reader can put themself in the situation; even in the 1600's! The history in The Merchant regarding King Charles and his ruling or lack of is spot on. This is a quick read and I'm already looking forward to the 3rd in the series!

Less Stressed More Blessed is her minimalist approach to life and dealing with stress. The book is divided into six chapters; chapters 1 & 2 discusses balancing stress and relaxation and identifying common stressors. Chapters 3 &4 deal with defining strew in the mind and battling stress at work. Chapters 5 &6 is about practicing relaxation techniques and managing stress at home. I personally found the chapter on dealing with stress at work very informative. But I was surprised to learn that household tasks like ironing can be de-stressing!

News from TV, killing, climate change, raising my son, dealing with bad in-laws. Stress has always been a huge issue in my life. Luckily, I found this book in amazon. It really helped me get over my stress fast. The tips are easy to obtain and apply. This book contains practical strategies on how to relieve stress fast. The content is short but comprehensive it touches on the factors that affect our stress level, and teaches us on how to fight back, prevent and eventually be totally relieved from it. The book isn't a problem solver but it makes things a little easier to deal with it. There are no quick fixes with stress it will always be apart of life. But it does make stress a bit easier to cope with.

The spelling errors start on page one, well, actually on the table of contents if you want to be technical. Instead of 'notation' I see 'natation' repeated over and over. Page two has a misspelled 'to' which reads as 'ti'. The headings on the third and fourth page describing the naming of the pieces reads "Center's" and "Corner's".I could not get past the silly grade school level mistakes enough to actually get anything out of the book. This is pathetic, and really saddens me to see the state of utter crap that is allowed to be sold on here.

65 of 65 people found the following review helpful. Not the complete method! By HansInDanville This edition is not really what it says. Carcassi's original method was published as Opus 59. There are three parts - the first takes you through the major keys C, G, D, A, E, F and minor keys Am, Em, Dm. The second part starts with slurs and trills, introduces higher positions, and rounds out some of the other keys. Part III, ***which is missing*** are 50 graded etudes. These are NOT the 25 Etudes of Opus 60. The omitted etudes of Opus 59 are very charming and do a lot to prepare you for Opus 60. The Carl Fischer edition (the orange one) has the 50 etudes.

21 of 21 people found the following review helpful. The best classic guitar method ever By James Stevens The old saying is that copying is the best form of flattery. The original etudes and solos written by Carcassi have been included in almost every classic and acoustic method book "written" in the last 50 years, quite often without proper reference to Carcassi as the author. I do not believe that any single method is complete enough to provide all that is needed however, the quality of the excercises and original songs in this method surpasses what one will find in most (the method published by Carulli is as good as this book) other method books. Mel Bay's imprint of the Carcassi method is densly packed with songs and wonderful etudes and scales (all solos), not words and wasteful pictures. The organization of this version is altered (for the better) from the original. (see the Carl Fischer version for the original organization) It is organized by key and concentrates on mastering the first and second positions before introducing more advanced techniques and the higher positions. My only complaint is that the pace of instruction increases too quickly (and the number of practice pieces drops off) once Carcassi begins to introduce the higher positions. I think learning the higher positions is easier to master one string at a time (see Parkening's method ) instead of by positions.Included in the book are the 25 studies publishe by Carcassi. These are often sold on their own for about the same cost as this book. The book is spiral bound and is printed with great clarity on parchment tinted paper that is very easy on the eyes. There is just enough fingering, helpful but not overdone. The text is written in english and spanish. For the quality of the printing, the lay flat spiral binding and the shear volume of original guitar music, this is the best bargain around. Get it.

The Best You Cn Buy By MSC I've played the guitar for 25 years or so, various styles including heavy metal, bluegrass, praise music, gospel, country, & classical. I have spent probably 1/3 of that time teaching. Needless to say, over that period of time I have seen quite a few guitar books. I have used various books to teach both students & myself. I have said all of that so I can say this: The Carcassi method book is the best guitar method book I have used. I have never seen the guitar explained in such a manner & fashion that leaves one wanting to learn more, it is pure genius. One key element of this book, I believe, is the fact that the studies & etudes were written for the guitar. You're not taking music originally written for the lute, cello, viloin, or piano & crossing over to the guitar. These studies & methods have stood the test of time. In short, this is the best guitar method book I have ever seen; & I have seen them all.

Page Raphael is mainly known for her hard-hitting short stories & her work reviewing across the horror genre so I was surprised to learn that she’d published a short collection of poetry.At less than 4000 words, this is indeed a short collection & many of the poems are short & punchy. Raphael shys away from wordy or flowery descriptions in favour of precision & an obvious knack for noticing things.Many of the pieces surround her growing up & provide a very personal insight into her life & times. (See My First Tattoo & Mosh Pit as excellent examples.)In poems such as Grocery Store, you will see what I mean when I see that she has an exceptional eye for detail, for making the mundane ‘watchable’ – for capturing a snapshot in time which must be based on reality.Kathleen is an excellent work which really makes you think. For My Cowboy – direct & romantic. Paper Doll is perhaps Raphael at her most complex – there seem to be a lot of layers to this one & it’s one I re-read a few times.I’m a big fan of poetry & nothing beats reading new stuff from writers you never really knew. I mean, I knew her short stories but never this level of intimacy & detail. An outstanding first collection. I will really watch what she does next.

The author is known, at least to me for her horror book reviews.When I read this impressed with her ability to describe things so visually (Teaching my Brother) and her ability to turn a scene to heart wrenching with a single line (T.P. Tom).Study Break made me nostalgic for the all-night study sessions I had back in college.There are several more poems, each one a different moment from the authors life before and up to college. I always saw in movies and from the media how people can learn body language to find out what other people are up to but never really got around to learning the details about it myself. Well this book caught my eye, and as I read it, I found out that it really isn’t all that hard to study other people’s body language to see what they are truly up to. It was exciting to learn all these things and I found myself becoming more acquainted with various facts and informations related to the field. A great and fun guide, thumbs up.

This book is a short and quick read, but it is packed with information regarding body language. It also talks how to develop the mindset your body language skills.

I know the show is fiction, but I believed a lot of what I saw in the show, and I have been googling and reading books on it ever since. I found this book to be a great source of information about everything you could ever want to know about body language. Some of the stuff was common sense, like clenched fists for anger, but a lot of it was totally new to me. This book covered everything from what it means when you blink in different ways, to your other facial expressions, lips, and eyes, and even how things differ depending on different cultures. It had never occurred to me before to consider that body language would be different in different culture's, though now it has been brought to my attention it makes a lot of sense. I was also unaware of the importance of hand language in different countries, and how even a thumbs up can be offensive depending on where you are. This book also covered personal space, and body language using your arms and legs. Mastering The Body Language was a really neat read, if you are at all into this stuff then I highly recommend this book, it is a wealth of knowledge.

By Pat Bryant In the summer of 2014, out of the clear blue sky, I had my first panic attack on an a flight from Atlanta to Chattanooga, TN. Fortunately, I was able to exit the airplane before takeoff, but began to spin rapidly downward into a world of which I had no understanding - in fact, completely bewildered, scared, and depressed. Most people have no idea what's happening when they have a panic attack, and I was no different. After seeing my GP (who diagnosed it immediately), I scheduled 6 sessions with a well-meaning but relatively ineffective counselor who recommended relaxation techniques that were only mildly effective. I was in a season of job change, and this was going to effect it radically, as I was heading back into consulting with consistent travel, meetings, interactions, etc. Panic and anxiety was exploding into agoraphobia, to the point that I couldn't go to the back of my local grocery or club store without feeling the walls closing in on my life. I was in prison.Only by the grace of God did I stumble upon Barry McDonagh and the Panic Away program. I consumed every ounce of his information, and began to practice his techniques: 1. Say "so what is the worst that can happen?" 2. Fully and completely accept and allow the discomfort (NOT DANGER) or anxious feelings and thoughts 3. Face it down - dare it to do its worst and 4. Engage in another activity - dwell in the moment to reacclimate the brain.Unlike many other programs, Barry's counter-intuitive approach of addressing our fears and anxiety head on forced me to deal with discomfort in a new way, and to prove to myself that I could push through anxiety and stretch out my boundaries. Anxiety is no longer something from which to "be cured," rather, it's a condition that I'm learning to welcome and live with, converting anxiety into excitement. Barry's approach is warm, intelligent, common sensical, and effective. No matter if you're a newbie like me, or have dealt with this for years, there's life change in this book.

This is the most helpful book, professional therapy or medication I have ever experienced. It is an amazing book full of wisdom, insight and practical tools that you can use to help free yourself from your anxiety. I have listened to the audio book MANY times in the months since I obtained it on the Indiegogo campaign before the public launch. (The audio book is now available at [...] if you buy the book on Amazon.) It has made a tremendous difference in my life. I understand my anxiety issues better, my anxiety levels have dropped significantly and I know how to deal with them. I am a religious person. This is the first non-scripture book for which I have thanked God in prayer. In all sincerity I recommend this book without reservation for anyone with any anxiety, worry, obsessive-compulsive, or panic disorder. STUDY this book! Read it over and over and glean a great perspective, obtain great tools and bless your life with the ability to treat (not manage) your anxiety!

I was impressed with the previous book by the author but this one is even better. To be honest, until I discovered this author, I didn't think anxiety was curable. I am so glad to have been wrong and so glad to have the effective methods under my belt that are spelt out in this publication. I would give it six stars but amazon won't let me!

Stevens I purchased this manual in hopes that it would teach me the "nuts and bolts" of practicing criminal defense - not just the law and procedure. It delivered. The author certainly sets forth general principles of law and procedure (it is not state specific), but, as he does so, he also gives valuable practice pointers throughout the two-volume manual. Having never practiced criminal defense as a private practicioner, I wondered how to even interview a client. This book tells me. It explains what my goals should be, things to watch out for, and even highlights universal ethical rules. It also includes sample forms. The only way I could have otherwise discovered this information would be from an experienced criminal defense practitioner who had the time and willingness to sit down and explain it to me, which was not feasible in my situation.

I now have a couple of criminal cases involving some of my civil clients who want me to defend them. And, since I have decided at the same time to add this area to my regular practice,. I searched for a book that will provide not only legal theory and procedure but also practical advice and tips. This book has not only provided all three but useful forms as well. I'm happy I purchased it.
