"Electric Fashion" is more than just another beautiful tome of priceless fashion; it's the story of the era Suppes built her collection, the story of the internet rising in the fashion industry and fashion press, the story of a woman's love of collecting and the artists that created her pieces and the story of a great friendship between photographer and subject. The fashion is extraordinary, from McQueen to Rodarte, Comme des Garçons, Alber Elbaz at several houses, YSL, Chanel, Suppes bought the best. To see the collector wearing the pieces in Aranda's highly theatrical tableaux of moments in Suppes' life is what makes it truly unique. This is hands down the best fashion book of 2015: If you want to know the story of the last thirty years in Haute Couture look no further. By Fritzie Blue An exquisite, mind boggling collection of couture clothing owned by Christine Suppes, a collector who understands that her pieces, like paintings or sculpture, are works of art. There are oodles of gorgeous, imaginative photographs shot by the remarkable Frederic Aranda in locations around the world, and detailed photos of the garments showing the intricate stitch-work and extraordinary embellishment. The text reveals the author's passion for fashion during different phases of her life. As the creator of possibly the first online fashion blog, she includes quotes of that ahead of its time publication, which meshes nicely with the main text, and provides prospective. This is different than some rather stuffy books of fashion, as Ms. Suppes has a great sense of fun. And it doesn't hurt that she looks like a model! I heartily recommend this beautiful book, a fabulous feast for anyone remotely interested in fashion.

As a person who only started developing fashion appreciation in my 20s, often times I find it hard to gain meaningful context from still runway photos. This book not only gives context surrounding each couture pieces that Christine Suppes collected over the years, but also gives the ever-needed fantasy element through her captivating narrative and Frederic Aranda's masterful photography. This book is a treasure for true fashion lovers.I also got the rare chance to see the authors and Ken Downing during the book launch party in San Francisco, and they are truly genuine and very down to earth despite their accomplishments.
