This play is about 2 28 year old twins who never venture out of their house & live on a diet of chocolate & sleeping pills. Their parents went out when they were 8 or 12 (can't remember) and never returned, so they never aged and remain in a child-state, completely insulated from the world -- until a vulgar, flashy entertainer come into the house and injects a sensory overload of the violent & grotesque outside world.

INSTEAD you'll find Dingle's Hardware Store run by Charlie Dingle, and The Frost Heaves Market : owned and operated by Bernie "Moochie Mueller"....(.Gosh, I love these people!! ) How about having your hair done down to Rick and Rhonda's Bait and Beauty Shop?? 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I've Met Some of These People By Robert Suphan Fred has painted an amusing picture of small-town New England. His writing is in the same style as his videos about Frost Heaves and I found myself laughing frequently at his descriptions of people and places. If you grew up in, or summered in, a small New England town you will recognized the folks that populate Frost Heaves. If you have never been to New England, the book will introduce you to real Yankees, described with both wit and warmth. Now I wish we had paid more attention to the Frost Heaves signs when driving through New England and had stopped to pay the town a visit.

By Frisco Mom Dave Hunter is by far my favorite author when it comes to all things relating to guitar ( check out his Guide for dummies, detailed books on the history of the Les Paul, Telecaster, Stratocaster, etc). This book may be the most practical as it dives into the all the hype and confusing elements of the amplifier and helps break down the critical "why's and how's". Also includes some wonderful interviews with some of the gentleman who have brought my favorites amps to the public ( Mark Sampson, Ken Fischer, etc). Pretty simple, a wonderful tool to help maximize the the relationship between your guitar and amp.

A subject I've wanted to learn more about for years. With a bit of electronics experience and guitar amp experience, this book is very well done. I'm ready to build a two-stroke amp now to add to my Rivera tube amp that I love. Even if you're not interested in building an amp, this book will give you knowledge of what makes a tube circuit unique and why the sound is almost impossible to duplicate with solid state though many have tried. A tube guitar amp Bible!

Trisha Porretti's story will move others to reflect on their dreams & goals as a means to overcome their challenges. She is not defined by diabetes. However, it serves as a focus for her evolution as a person & as a professional who both lives the disease & helps others to manage it. There were times when the book made me smile, chuckle & laugh out loud. I was moved by Porretti's faith in herself as well as her faith in a higher power. She REALLY believes and that attitude propels her to the next step in her journey. “Quality of Life” and “Health Outcomes” and other terms referring to the physical, mental and emotional effects experienced by people as they encounter health challenges are in wide use and misuse in the health care and health research community. Many of these terms are used interchangeably without recognizing that they have completely different meanings and, thus, require different measurement approaches and different types of interventions if they are to be optimized. The notion of creating a “dictionary” of these terms arose so that novices and experts, researchers and clinicians, can commonly address these health outcome challenges. The correct term for this collection of definitions is a “vocabulary for a vertical audience” as the definitions reflect the usage in QOL and health outcomes measurement rather than all usages and the definitions were written to have meaning for the novice while still being useful for the expert As a starting point for the vocabulary, terms were chosen based on the frequency of use in journal articles focussing on of quality of life research. The terms fall broadly into 8 concepts all of which have an identified need for consistent and correct terminology: research process, measurement properties, statistics for QOL research, designs for QOL research, patient reported outcomes (PROs), theories and models, knowledge translation, and personal factors. Rather than being “A malevolent literary device for cramping the growth of a language and making it hard and inelastic” (Ambrose Bierce, The Devil’s Dictionary), “This dictionary, however, is a most useful work.” (Ambrose Bierce, The Devil’s Dictionary). To avoid the “devil”, terms reflecting modern advances in outcomes research and design were included even they may not yet be in common usage in QOL research. For example, while designs like the stepped wedge or platform trials may not yet have penetrated the world of QOL research, they will not if no one knows about them. More than 20 people contributed definitions and following editing, the dictionary was opened up for review and comment from members of ISOQOL and their suggestions and modifications were included, adding a component of peer review to the process. About the Author Nancy E. Mayo, PhD Nancy Mayo is a Professor at McGill University in the Department of Medicine, Division of Clinical Epidemiology, and School of Physical and Occupational Therapy. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, she trained as a Physical Therapist at Queen’s University, and after several years of working clinically, she completed a doctoral degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, at McGill University. She has been educating health professionals and clinical researchers for over 25 years and has published over 200 scientific works in the peer reviewed medical literature as well as contributing to collective works such as Medical Uses of Statistics 4th Edition (Ed. Bailar and Hoaglin) and Physical Rehabilitation Outcome Measures (Finch, Brooks, Stafford, Mayo). Mayo has also written a number of scientific papers specifically related to education on research methods and statistics. The Dictionary of Quality of Life and Health Outcomes Measurement was inspired by students and was assembled as a way of helping novices and experts alike to “speak the same language” about measuring these important health outcomes; essentially, the intent was to improve the research-related quality of life of people working in this important field.

Disgraceful Rip-off By RGarlin This is a complete rip-off - as far as I can tell, it's no more than a collection of Joan River's jokes copied off the Internet (and not always accurately) and then thrown haphazardly together to get to the $10 in your hip pocket. And I bet JR or her estate don't get a penny in royalties. Disgraceful.

A really well put together book of Joan Rivers best jokes! :-)! :-) By Kindle Customer I wasn't expecting much of this book considering the author 's name is "Anonymous", and every time I hear that name I think of that online terrorist group that hacks into everything end messes with I believe the government everything else , you know the ones that where the V for vendetta masks . However like I was saying I check this out because I have a Kindle unlimited account , well just Amazon prime account end decided to check this out since I am a huge fan of Jones for years since I was probably 14. I've seen multiple specials of hers on TV spending all the way back from Ed Sullivan, Carol Burnett to a very long British special she did back in 8384 you know going on to the late 90s end up until she died along with seeing her in 2012 for my birthday. End this person did a fabulous job at putting this together. There's strong all over her career it's not 100 jokes from the past 20 years it's 100 jokes for the past 15 years so it gives you a wide variety of she really was a comedic icon a trailblazer and a legend that was gone too soon.

I expected at least 100 or so pages. What I got was a 26 page book that is very thin and hardly even worth printing. Granted, the content, the actual jokes are all hilarious, timeless and funny. It does a good job of showing the depth and breadth of Joan's work. It however is not enough to satisfy this Joan fan. What we really need is a book that publishes all of Joan's joke catalog, which as any Joan fan knows is very large and expansive. She basically kept an archive of every joke she ever wrote.

Really the only reason I grabbed it is because I’m always interested in ways I can improve my health.After reading through the book, though, I’m 90% sure I have some sort of gut flora disturbance.I used to take probiotics, but stopped because I thought they were just a waste of money. However, the author has convinced me that they’re one of the best things I can do for my body and my overall health—not just for your gut.I like that the author provides many small changes people can make in their daily lives to improve their overall gut health. Two thumbs up!

This book is an evolving theory about the human condition and the true nature of reality. The theory states the laws of human energy dynamics that include the premise that all human stress, depression, anxiety, and conflict come from the perceived unfair or unequal exchange of human energy. The theory put forth utilizes the laws of physics from the physical realm and translates these same laws into human beings and human behavior. The theory clearly states that all human behavior is one hundred percent defensive, protective, selfish, self-centered, self-serving and is done so the human in question can avoid, relieve, reduce, or eliminate all forms of conceivable human suffering (self-destructive and suicidal behavior explained). The more we feel threatened and consequently suffer, the more selfish we become. There are no such things as selflessness, sacrifice, martyrs, or heroes because everything a person does or thinks about himself or herself has the subconscious and/or conscious goal of relieving suffering. Everything is a defense against suffering. The theory/philosophy presented in this book explains why people act the way they do, and why life is a brutal, fierce competition for scarce, finite, ultimately impersonal, ultimately impartial, and ultimately neutral human energy. All inevitable stress and conflict come from the entitlement people feel for this powerful invisible force (human energy), and there just isn’t enough to go around to satisfy each person’s unique entitlement issues. Even though this book talks about an inherent order to human beings with regards to energy, it is a very spiritual book meant to help people make sense of their lives and take the mystery out of why things happen they way they do. Once the reader becomes enlightened (aware) to the true nature of reality, only then can the human species evolve to a place where we can talk about what we are experiencing here on earth accurately. If you suffer from depression or any other "mental illness" this book is a must read. This book helps to explain why people with depression have absolutely no energy. By explaining how lifelong interactions with other people is a giving and taking of energy, it helps to validate this very physical symptom of depression. As a person in a profession who sees many people with depression, this book can help guide these people to a path of healing and enlightenment.

It helps you understand that being selfish is natural. We all seek to better ourselves, to receive energy from others and from our environment. Understanding how we behave relieves our stress, and gives us the freedom to better ourselves. This book is anti-drugs, except if you think they are helpful. It puts you in control of yourself.

Not sure if I would have liked this book so much if I didn't have a strong musical background. I certainly would not recommend it for a first time student.

He tells wonderful stories of his time in the Beatles employ with insight and humor. Let's be honest here, Kevin is probably not going to win a Pulitzer Prize for journalism. Kevin writes as he speaks ... stories we've never heard along with photos we've never seen. If you love the Beatles ... and can't get enough ... you'll love Kevin's book. Well worth the read.

Really it amounts to several interesting anecdotes. So, for completists and obsessed fans only. And since that includes me, four stars.

I have always wondered who the redhead on the roof was and now I know! I wish it was available in a regular book form as well as an ebook.

By zonaras _The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind_ by French social theorist Gustave LeBon is a short treatise on the principles of large gatherings of people. As the disclaimer on the title page notes, the ideas in LeBon's book were popular at the time of the late 19th century but are no longer in vogue today. The reasons for this are obvious, as LeBon unpretentiously puts to fault all the rhetoric about "democracy," "equality," "fraternity," and "equality" as being mere catchphrases that self-serving demagouges use to control the spirit of the masses. He cites the French Revoloution and the demands of Socialism and Communism during his time. LeBon outlines the way crowds tend to think (in vivid images illogically connected), how they reason (they don't for all practical purposes), how they express exaggerated emotion, how they are very quick to take action without coherent thought and of the general extreme-conservativism and intolerance of crowds. The individual who becomes part of a crowd tends to loose himself, and feels invincible as he is aware of the similarity of mind and purpose of all those surrounding him. LeBon notes how individuals become unthinking entities of the Herd, and can be unconsciously made to do acts, which can either be of great criminality or heroism. The reasoning of the solitary individual is superior to that of a crowd which has no individuality. All are "equal" in a crowd where, for instance, a mathemetician is caught up in the same spirit as a laborer and class and intelligece differences fall to the lowest common denominator. One advangage of crowds is that they can express the spirit of a class, caste, or race of a people better than the individual can, and that crowds are capable of great deeds such as victory in a war or the spread of a religion that would be beyond simply one person's effort. The back title of _The Crowd_ mentions that Hitler, Mussolini in addition to Freud were familiar with LeBon's work, and it is readily apparent that their followers acted very similar to the behavior that LeBon describes. The basic point of _The Crowd_ is this: For Bettor or Worse, Never Underestimate the Power of Stupid People in Large Groups.

But I want to relate something that came into my mind after reading the following passage from chapter III:"A hundred petty crimes or petty accidents will not strike the imagination of crowds in the least, whereas a single great crime or a single great accident will profoundly impress them, even though the results be infinitely less disastrous than those of the hundred small accidents put together.The epidemic of influenza, which caused the death but a few years ago of five thousand persons in Paris alone, made very little impression on the popular imagination. The reason was that this veritable hecatomb was not embodied in any visible image, but was only learnt from statistical information furnished weekly.An accident which should have caused the death of only five hundred instead of five thousand persons, but on the same day and in public, as the outcome of an accident appealing stronly to the eye, by the fall for instance of the Eiffel Tower [sic], would have produced, on the contrary, an immense impression on the imagination of the crowd.... To know the art of impressing the imagination of crowds is to know at the same time the art of governing them."What came into my mind after reading that passage? Airplanes and collapsing towers. This book is a must read for any thinking person.

62 of 70 people found the following review helpful. More insightful than Macchiavelli By Alessandro Bruno This is a short book whose pages have a far greater impact than the title might suggest. As many reviewers have already noted, the book simply explains the mechanisms that guide the popualr imagination and outlines the simple principles that enable the few who grasp them to hold control over vast populations. What struck me particulalry was how the recipes for power suggested by Gustave Le Bon are reflected in contemporary neo-liberal economic and socio-cultural agendas. Those who are involved in developing education policies will find the book especially useful. Writing over a century ago,Le Bon criticized the liberal education system and advocated the more common sense practical type of learning that neo-liberal agendas have been pushing for since the late 70's. It also makes a strong case for the impact of simple messages over crowds. Common sense arguments, logic and thoughtful concerns, LE Bon argues, are lost on the masses. Indeed, it is widely believed that this was one of Benito Mussolini's favorite books. We are living ever more in an era of simplistic thinking. By reading this book you will understand how this has occurred and how demagogues rise to power. As with another reviewer, I also stay away from crowds. This book unraveled the unconscious instincts that always make me avoid crowds and anything that is too popular.
