The Beatles in the News 1964 - Volume One By S Riaz A fan since 1963, when he was seven, this is the second volume of news cuttings from Colin Barratt’s personal collection. The first volume, “The Beatles in the News 1962-1963” took us from the Beatles first single to Beatlemania. One of the problems with these books, is that news clippings are not dated and often there is no information on which magazine, or newspaper, the clipping comes from. Another issue with these collections is the fact that the print is small and that is always a problem with kindle books. You can zoom, but I found myself squinting and, to be honest, I was unable to read all the words. With the first volume, I seemed to be able to zoom into each individual clipping, but, with this book, I could only zoom on each page and, therefore, could not enlarge each clipping.That does sound a bit negative and, in fact, I think these books are worth getting for fans – if you are aware of the minus points. Oddly, we seem to have missed out the US invasion and begin with the NME Poll Winners concert. The Beatles are number one in the States with, “Can’t Buy Me Love,” and they also hold the second, third, fourth and fifth places in the chart! So huge is their success that those in the States are, “still trying to ‘explain’ the Beatles,” while Connie Francis admits that there is no pop singer, “who hasn’t been hurt by the Beatles,” while consoling herself that they are, “a fad and they’ll run their course.”There are adverts for everything from Beatles boots, jackets and sweaters, to a rather scary, “Beatles panel,” and for new books by Beatles manager Brian Epstein, “A Cellarful of Noise,” and John’s, “In His Own Write.” I am confused by the jump from the eve of the Beatles success in the US to “A Hard Day’s Night,” and the replacement of Ringo by Jimmy Nicol for their concerts in Holland and part of the Australian tour. I would have preferred that we had seen some press reports of the British invasion, but still there is lots of interest in here. A telephone call between the Beatles and Elvis, which pre-dates their one and only meeting, news of other NEMS artists; such as Cilla’s attempts to make it in America and original advertisements are all of great interest. It is just a shame that these collections are marred by a lack of information and an inability to read them clearly.

She has been my motivator, my teacher, and the person I go to if I am not quite sure where to go next in life. And all of that is without even meeting her! These books have been my guides. Her explanations of every breath, drishti, asana... Are more than you could ever ask for from a book. There are no Ashtanga Yoga classes around me, so I'm teaching myself, with these books they make it ten times easier! Kino I am so grateful for these amazing books that you have written for us! Keep them coming!! BUY THIS BOOK YOU WONT REGRET IT!

By Aramate As a student of Ashtanga Yoga, I find Kino's books to be necessary companion guides for the devoted, and passionate practitioner. Kino not only is a master teacher whose knowledge of the Ashtanga Yoga method is thorough and gained through the wisdom of her own journey under the guidance of her teachers, but she is an intelligent woman who can communicate her knowledge in a simple, understandable way that leaves you feeling inspired, and w/the light bulb on!This book is meant to be read and used after its predecessor which focuses on the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. Not for beginners, and she says as much. The Intermediate, or Second Series, builds on the foundation of the first series, and if undertaken without that foundation, many things will be missed or disregarded. There is a logic to this living tradition which should be acknowledged and respected.I highly recommend for all who are serious about their journey with Ashtanga Yoga! Kino is it!

As a serious yogi I feel like it's my responsibility to my practice and future students to learn from people with true depth of knowledge, lineage, and experience. But with the combination of coconut oil and apple cider vinegar is much easier. I’ve tried it and get excellent results! Maxwell I've been using coconut oil for skin care for about a year now, and it has been fantastic for keeping my skin moisturized without leaving a greasy residue. This book has given me some great ideas to use the other huge container of coconut oil that came with my initial order, mostly in recipes.

Face-paced mystery with hint of romance By Nancy Gregory When top biographer Sean McKenzie at Schnellings Publishing House is murdered, Trudy Rue is recruited to write a biography of the Prince of Wales. As a historian who has researched ancient Kings, she is ill-fitted to the task, and has no idea what to ask a living Prince. Yet she barely gets started with interviewing the Prince when she is named a subject of interest in the death of McKenzie.Back and forth Trudy goes, from London to New York, trying to manage her job as she becomes embroiled in Sean’s mysterious past. Was he selling antiquities on the black market? Was he messing around with an unstable woman? In the meantime, she tries to maintain her job as royal biographer, meeting with the Prince alone at the very romantic Holyrood Palace.A fast paced mystery with a lot of chemistry between the main characters. This is a book I would highly recommend.

The main appeal is the clean writing and plots that are unmarred by gore or other tasteless elements found in other books. Author Julie Sarff has written a delightful new cozy mystery with "The Prince and I" and I am still smiling long after turning the last page. The story of Trudy Rue, a biography writer who is asked to write about the Prince of Wales. Unfortunately, she has real-life problems of her own as her ex-husband has been murdered and she is under suspicion. Between flirting with the Prince of Wales, Trudy investigates the unwholesome activities of her ex to get to the bottom of his death. Such a fun, well-written, and romantic read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

It was for free and I figured it would be a partial book with a highly annoying cliff hanger. Not at all. I turned out loving the writer's wit and style and even though it wasn't my usual genre, I ended up really getting into it after the 2nd chapter or so. I loved it so much I didn't care how much the second book was. I wanted to read more about these endearing and hilarious characters. The mystery and intrigue, the plot twists. It was all so enjoyable, I found myself wishing it could be turned into a movie so I could watch it with my husband who'd probably die before he would read a book with this title. Excellent. I think anyone will enjoy this book, if they give it a chance.

I beg your pudding By Jimi Jac So here’s the thing, I think like most people who are going to read a book about the life of Bob Harris, you really want it to focus on the time that he spent presenting the Old Grey Whistle Test (being more of a fan that songwriter or musician gave Harris a unique perspective on the acts he encounters), but unfortunately, that’s only half the book.The rest of the book is interesting & well written, telling how Harris struggled to find work, affairs, he fall out with fellow BBC DJ Bruno Brookes(!), fighting cancer & becomes the go-to guy for all things Country & Western.It’s just a shame that Bob Harris couldn’t have written a kind of dairy-based biography about all the shows, & interviews that he made with Whistle test.

Hitchcock worked with his screenwriter, John Michael Hayes, to produce the film script that would take Hollywood's finest to the South of France.

Interesting Story of An Interesting Man - Loses Focus When Hitchcock Shows Up By Dirk Drudgler David Dodge seemed like the kind of man who lived his life well. He had a wandering spirit which kept him untethered from society and possessions so he could turn his passion for world travel into a lifestyle. He married a woman who was much like himself and together they determined that they were going to live in the paradise of the French Riviera among millionaires. Somehow they were going to survive on his income as a writer.They found a little rental place with a magnificent view and settled there following the budget minded upwardly mobile maxim of finding the worst house on the best street. It was here he wrote To Catch A Thief. It is the story of a cat burglar out to prove his innocence in the Cote d'Azure. Alfred Hitchcock bought the rights to the film and made the same French Riviera location the obvious choice for working with Cary Grant & Grace Kelly.The very short book primarily focuses on David Dodge until the movie people show up. These moments are the most interesting as Mr. Dodge is an interesting person who we don't know much about. When production begins on the movie, Dodge falls into the background and the narrative starts to drag. All of the details of the making of this movie and the lives of its legendary cast have been explored in much more depth than what is offered here in a fairly pedestrian account of the film's production. Interactions between the book's most interesting character (Dodge) and Hollywood's royalty are non-existent which causes the narrative to suffer greatly.Kudos to the designer of the cover, a very cool and compelling image not often seen on Kindle Singles.The book definitely has its charms but could probably do with a good and thorough editing to tighten up the story and to refocus it on its main strength, travel writer and novelist David Dodge.

It starts with background on the author of the book on which the movie was based, and this was the part of the book that I found the most interesting. Mr. Dodge led an interesting life! The book also covers the process of converting the story to a movie. Fans of "To Catch a Thief" will probably enjoy this behind the scenes look at the movie and its back story. Others might find the story of Mr. Dodge compelling, as well- he lived the sort of life that many of us say we want.

A Self-Confidence Masterpiece By Stephen One of the best self-confidence books I've ever read.For someone who's obviously into NLP and probably hypnosis, the author never uses those two terms at all. His method for uncovering self-sabotaging beliefs has to be seen to be believed. And it's totally original, as far as I know. This is one of the great ones. Well done!

But I want to be published and when I've sat down to write, I always found something to do.Until now...After reading and doing the exercises in this book, the ability to sit down to write for publication is gone.To quote Warden Norton from the movie, Shawshank Redemption, upon finding out that Andy Defresne had mysteriously escaped, "He just disappeared! Like a fart in the wind!"That is how I feel right now about my fear of writing, they have practically disappeared. I am doing the exercises because I have faith that my fear will be completely gone in time.As proof, I've never written a review for any book before.Get the book. Do the exercises. You won't believe how much better you'll feel.

It has always been difficult for me to plan ahead and be organized. I think it's because I don't follow a healthy routine. These books helped me to understand how important it is to organize and follow a proper routine and also suggested the way to achieve it by adding tiny changes in my life. It feels quite uneasy for me in the beginning but I hope to get used to it soon. I want to become more active and productive than before.
