Now, everyone does it and most people that have participated probably have more than their share of horror stories and funny tales. I know I do despite finally finding my spouse in a break of luck. It was surreal and a real treat to revisit this world in author Tabitha Makes' delightful "Till Delete Do Us Part". An absolutely hilarious string of stories that had me laughing out loud from the situations and some of the absurd, yet believable, dialogue resulting from internet meet ups. This book was such a fun read and Makes is a talented writer that can tell any story with flare. A highly recommended read.

By Mr Green My grandpa is actually diabetic and am having a very difficult time selecting what to feed him, so for me getting this book was a big relief. This book has been very helpful, it has explained what a diabetic diet is and it has also shown me why limiting carbohydrate intake is of paramount importance for healthy living. More importantly this book has provided more enough delicious and easy to prepare diabetic recipes one can select from. Great book

I thought that a good diabetic cookbook might come helpful for them. I looked the book myself in an instance before giving it to them. It seemed pretty good to me. It had many useful recipes for the diabetes patients. When I gave the book to them, at first they got surprised. Then when they finished reading the book they seemed really happy. They told me that it was a great cookbook for them. The recipes written in this book were indeed specially written for the diabetes patients.I would like to thank the author of this book for writing such a wonderful book.

And the recipes are really a bunch of ingredients that anybody could throw together without needing a recipe at all. I cook a lot and was looking for some different recipes that maybe had unique ingredients but it's not that at all what this book is. And there is no nutritional info (carbs, fat, sodium) on any of the recipes which is crucial when you are diabetic. Don't waste your money on this book.

It has so many stories in one and is uber fantabulous and stuff. If you don't buy it you aren't sane. It has so many amazing chapters and interesting details BUY IT NOW OR ELSE YOU WILL REGRET NOT BUYING IT!

As part of the legal team for thalidomider, Lyn Rowe’s action against parent drug manufacturer Grunenthal, and Australian distributor, Distillers, Michael Magazanik had access to a staggering amount of information about the whole thalidomide scandal. In this book, he tells several stories concurrently: the development and marketing of the drug by the German manufacturer; the marketing and distribution by licensees in other countries, in particular, the United Kingdom, USA and Australia; just how Lyn Rowe became a thalidomider (a story common to many of the victims); and the work and time involved in Lyn’s legal action for compensation.Many potential readers will think they know the story of the thalidomide scandal: this book will have a few surprises for them, as Magazanik exposes myths and concealments on a grand scale; those who have a vaguer knowledge of events will appreciate Magazanik’s thorough account of the circumstances that led to the unnecessary maiming and death of so many. And may find themselves gasping at the lies, the cover-ups and denials revealed. The stringent safeguards by which researchers and marketers are now bound is something for which the world can be grateful to them. That in the present day there are still thalidomiders born in some countries will stun those who think this an issue of the past. Magazanik provides a great deal of information, but his experience as a journalist is apparent as he presents it all in easily digestible form. He includes a comprehensive index and a handy chronology of events.While the lack of justice and compensation for thalidomiders is disappointing, and the refusal of Grunenthal to accept responsibility or pay compensation, infuriating, Magazanik ends his account on a positive note, with a quote from Wendy Rowe: “It was the drug that damaged Lyn, pure and simple. But once it happened, it was up to us to turn it into a positive or a negative. Lyn has shown us all what grace and courage and determination are and we’re better people for it. She changed our direction in life. You’d never wish what happened to Lyn on anyone. But there was no changing it. We had to dig down and find the good in it”. This book has been accurately described as a compelling read. Highly recommended!

Patch The prolific David Bird combines quantitative data from simulations with a superb knowledge of standard bridge knowledge and a touch of bridge writing wit to create a masterpiece. This encourages bridge thinking from its intended audience, the masses of ordinary, regular duplicate bridge players. The entire work emphasizes the game of matchpoints as played in duplicate clubs.A typical example of Bird's style of instruction is the section on exploring the choice of games between 3NT and a 4-4 heart fit. He explains why experts would avoid using Stayman with a pancake 4-3-3-3 hand, and details the differences of a 5000 hand simulation which shows that 3NT is superior at both IMPS and matchpoints. He used the illustration of the great Terence Reese lambasting the use of Stayman in a bridge match to show that in an IMP match, one should avoid Stayman with the common 4-4-3-2 hand with AQ or KJ in the short suit. The simple charts of the simulation results allowed Bird to make the point that the NT game, while clearly superior at IMPS was not at regular matchpoints. A comparison with Woolsey's section in his book "Matchpoints." also analyzed the choice between the two contracts similarly, using guidelines rather than simulation results, and then further expounded how tone could use these guidelines to find more 44 major hands where 3NT was superior even at Matchpoints

Hare This book is ideal for the intermediate duplicate player (about 400 to 600 MPs).Bird has done extensive computer studies, which give results at both MasterPoints and IMPs. Duplicate results are based on probabilities and Bird's computer analysis works out the probabilities for us. This is an excellent book.The most important chapter for me was the one on defense. He makes when to show count and when to show suit preference on the opening lead simple and reasonable. Future trends in bidding may well be based on Bird's analysis. This is an important book for duplicate players.

Oakley, Jr. I have been reading this book a little at a time. I have not read all of it, but loved the chapter on signaling in defense--Helping your partner in defense. I have learned if not attitude, it is count and if not count then preference, but I have trouble putting this into operation. His chapter has been very helpful to me on these issues. I am showing these hands to my wife and ordering her and my other regular bridge partner a copy of the book. I am a solid intermediate and would like to be advanced. I think this book will help me to get there.

I'm kind of a book snob and am so glad I picked this one up; this is just such a cute novelty item for parents. The last line of the "Day at Daycare" poem really slayed me. I loved these poems as an adult, but could absolutely see a kid relating to the themes in here and giggling at the some of the sillier lines. Will be picking up more of these. Well done to the author. The illustrations were cute too!

I am normally one of "those" readers who try to figure out what is going to happen and then tell myself "I knew it!". I could not do it with this book at all. The author tells the story in such a way, and with wonderful pacing, that you just keep turning page after page and going "Hmmm, I didn't see THAT coming" Great story, characters you become invested in, and surprises! What more do you want from a book? I look forward to more stories from Sarah, and hopefully, she will write something to let us stay in touch with these four women. Broken in The Back Bay is a book I will recommend to everyone!

Now and then there's brilliant line that takes you by surprise in a good way.I really enjoyed most of the pieces especially Death and Mate and Refuse to Pay, in which the author gets an unfair parking ticket slapped on his famous red honda. It's pretty funnyThe illustrations look great too. Worth a buy just for them.

Both the author and illustrator have such well-developed styles that are completely unique. Eric Z Berger has joined the ranks of Steve Martin and Woody Allen: writers who can literally make me laugh out loud. It's a rare feat to do this, and I applaud Eric and Alex on this quality book. I hope there's more to come.

Somewhere around page 100, I decided to start taking notes on character traits in her life that I would do well to emulate. The time spent in this well-written little volume has been encouraging and helpful. If you're a lover of biographies, you'll definitely want to add this book to your collection.

There have been some good nuggets from the author's attempt to record this godly woman's life. But, I have found it very difficult to read. There is no chronological order, thus seeming entangled and hard to follow, making it a chore to finish reading.
