It is an undeniable fact that every man finds dating to be awful, and every man is awful at it. This is hardly surprising, since no guy understands anything about women. How is he supposed to succeed at dating when he has no clue what the female expects him to say, wear, or do? What is the correct response when she asks his opinion on her stupid hairstyle or the size of her buttocks? Is there anything he can do to reduce the amount of time she spends grimacing and yelling? Fortunately, bachelors of all ages now have The Dating Weasel to finally and definitively answer those seemingly impossible questions. And the answer is: Who cares? With the breakthrough strategies in this remedial course, men don't need to understand a thing about women in order to date one. To find love, all a man needs is: (1) this hilarious book (preferably several copies); (2) an under-active conscience; and (3) access to a few common household items (e.g., onions, sofa cushions, dead hearing aids, etc.). Thus equipped, the male dating student will learn invaluable lessons, including how to: * Find a woman whose looks don't resemble something from a coroner's training video, and who has the optimal level of psychosis; * Hunt down and ask out a woman without incurring serious physical injury to himself (and even without having to bathe) * Navigate all phases of the date in a way that minimizes her nausea and maximizes his chance of success; * Defend himself against PMS, visiting her family, sex, gift-giving holidays, commitment, and other dating-related horrors. By the end of this book, the male will learn to channel his inner Weasel so that he will be able to date the women he wants... and want the women he dates.

Review "...[S]uperbly written... Within the first few pages reading this fascinating book, it had me chuckling, laughing, and nodding solemnly." -Stefan Vucak for Readers' Favorite (5/5 Star Rating)

From the Author The Dating Weasel was designed to give men everything they wanted in a male-oriented humor book about dating.  Specifically, we engineered this book so that it would: 1) not waste a male student's time by suggesting he improve himself or take responsibility for any of his personal shortcomings; 2) never discuss what all the silverware is for on either side of the dinner plate, how to fake having personal hygiene, or any other dating-related topic the male isn't interested in and that other books go on and on about; and 3) actually be funny.   Now, as sales of The Dating Weasel are poised to rocket past the double digit mark, we feel that the 24 years (in our defense, it was intermittent, not continuous) invested in writing this book were well spent.  We hope you will buy it and agree.  But mostly, we just hope you buy it.

About the Author H. Darren Porter is a middle-aged double divorcé whose claim to fame is that he has been on more than 2,000 dates in his life and has never once been drugged and left for dead in a field. He would love to be a full-time writer but is realistic enough to know only about three people have ever made a living at it without turning into toothless alcoholics. So, he has an actual salaried job, but is close-mouthed about it for reasons he keeps to himself (he will say it has nothing to do with the furniture rental or hair re-growth industries). He is more than a little uncomfortable telling you where he lives.Brad Kersey isn't.

Radczenko-Swanovski As a proponent of Sun Tzu, I believe it beneficial to keep up on the latest strategies the enemy, I mean, male humans ,employ when engaging female humans in battle, I mean dating. So I searched for the perfect book. I must admit the smarmy, fly attracting, weed bearing weasel immediately appealed to me, (a probable impairment of mine also exhibited in my dating life), so I dropped the fifteen bucks and waited. The book is written as a how to manual for men to weasel a date with a woman (a real one) without dying or being maimed. At first I found it extremely funny, witty, hilarious, that these two individuals could so accurately describe all the weird females (not me) bouncing around the world, and how hard it would be for a normal human to engage them in conversation, let alone date one. Poor Weasel. It started to get fairly disturbing rather quickly.Around page 30 I started thinking, I don't get it, I do that, all the time, why is this in here? Then,- no way would that work on me, no one can get out of obIigatory gift giving to- holy ****, I think I fell for that one. I began arguing with the book, out loud, publically, privately, and lost. I showed my brother, my dad, my sons, looking for support- all they did was nod in agreement and asked when they could borrow it, or if they could get it in a power point format. My father has since been banished from the house by my mother - she asked why he was laughing and he handed her the book pointing to the back cover. (He's been having a great time fishing and eating Cheetos, knowing he'll be invited back when heavy stuff needs to be moved). I was shocked- this was covered in the book. The saddest realization came the next day, after my therapy session. I would, in fact, probably date a Weasel.

By Sage A humorous blurb, catchy title (THE DATING WEASEL and "remedial"??), and sleazy weasel surrounded by flies enticed me to buy this book - I wasn't disappointed! Be prepared to laugh a lot, cringe a little, and maybe even be offended. This book is a funny, satirical, sometimes irreverent look at dating from the male's perspective. It is written in a how-to/manual format including lessons, examples, and suggestions on dating etiquette in preparation for a Certificate of Completion at the end. If you have a sense of humor; embrace a tongue-in-cheek look at life; can laugh at yourself; revel in quick wit, clever wording, sarcasm and satire; and have a creative mind that can turn the authors' hilarious scenarios into vivid mental pictures, you'll really enjoy reading this book. I know I did!

By Mark Williams Whether you are currently dating or a man wedded for 39 years like myself, anyone can find reading THE DATING WEASEL a hilarious good time. This is one of the best humor books I've had the pleasure of reading. Page after page left me laughing out loud. The pitfalls of dating outlined in THE DATING WEASEL remind me of why I opted out of dating and got married early in life. This is not a book to learn commonly held views of dating etiquette which only produce second guessing, excessive sweating and other physical maifestations associated with stress like loss of consciousness or incontinence. Instead the Authors have perfectly captured the difficulties of dating and have provided "brilliant" if not necessarily politically correct solutions for men to survive the dating experience from beginning to end. This book is very funny!

On a South American rubber plantation stands the home of Klaas Van Gelder—a house whose claim to fame is murder. Barney the foreman, beguiled by Van Gelder’s beautiful young wife Dina, pushed his employer into the afterlife, took Dina as his bride and made himself master of Van Gelder Manor. But a witch-like servant gives him a dose of jungle justice: She places a curse on him so that he transforms by night into the deadliest of jungle demons, the succarath. Curt Siodmak, creator of The Wolf Man and Donovan’s Brain, devised this outlandish monster melodrama, basically an exotic remake of The Wolf Man, co-starring the Wolf Man himself, Lon Chaney. The Fabulous Fifties’ first horror hit, it rates deluxe Scripts from the Crypt treatment: a “Making Of” article, a tribute to Siodmak, detailed release information, an essay on the music score, an interview with producer Herman Cohen, a Lon Chaney Timeline, Production Code correspondence, script, pressbook and more.

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. And I tend to love this stuff By Frederic B. Martin I think the author finally ran out of clever ways to call Barbara Payton a whore by the last chapter. A very entertaining read by a gifted researcher and talented writer, but a tad too snarky and mean-spirited. I suppose it's to be commended that Mr. Weaver doesn't take himself nor his topic of choice too seriously, but eventually the sarcasm and condescension get a bit old. That said, the book is a veritable gold mine of background information on a film that, when I finally saw it about five years ago, was so un-entertaining it actually made me angry. And I tend to love this stuff. Reading this book is a far more entertaining experience than sitting through the film itself. As opposed to the treatment Ms. Payton gets, Lon Chaney is treated honestly AND respectfully which is very nice indeed, with solid contribution from Greg Mank and Scott MacQueen. (Not sure I care what John Landis has to say on the subject but there he is, rolled out again as he often is, this time into the role of long-winded Introduction writer.) But yes, I'm going to buy the others in this series.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. No movie is too obscure By Chris Flick This was a very engaging read. I got hold of a copy of the movie to watch first and that doubled the enjoyment of the book. I have read other titles by Tom Weaver and enjoyed them, while learning a lot about the lower (some might say) tier of filmmaking. This is filled with documentation to give context to the period and the performers. Bride of the Gorilla was the first movie I had seen with Miss Payton, who it must be said comes in for a bit of a shellacking. I found her rather compelling to watch; as I did the entire cast of B-listers. The book is fun, the movie is fun. I look forward to reading the other titles in this series, once I have caught up on the films.

2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Fact-laden book with a great story to be told and a lot of funny stuff too! By Mark Martucci I own every book Weaver has written. He's got a style that shows he obviously enjoys these films but he also is able to delight in the goofiness of some of them as well. You also get all the facts backed up with footnoted sources along with all the fun.And this book is without a doubt the FUNNIEST of all his books. As I was reading I found myself chuckling and then laughing out loud at some of the crazy and ridiculous antics that went on during the production and release of the film. There are some lines in here that are worth memorizing and will get you laughs anywhere you go.You don't write a book about a film called BRIDE OF THE GORILLA as a film scholar or some egg headed professor at UCLA would. Film history can be fun as it is here. The story of Realart Pictures and Jack Broder Productions is really quite important in the chronology of the beloved Universal horror classics. This book gives us the missing piece as to what happened to our favorite monsters in the years after production stopped in January of 1946 up to when they hit their greatest popularity in the Shock Theater packages on TV in the late '50s. It turns out that Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, The Mummy and The Wolf Man were all very much alive and in action during those dark non-horror years. It's a fascinating story that has never been told with this much detail. Tom tells it here with a wink and a huge infectious sense of humor. To the sourpuss amateur psychiatrist (who seems to me to have a screw or two loose) posting here about how Weaver hates women, I would say that there seems to be some kind of unfounded wrong headed personal attack going on here.I am.. SHOCKED...Shocked, I say! ..with Amazon's allowing that kind of stuff stand. Why would someone as thin skinned and PC corrupt as this poster tries to make out he/she is pick up and read a book about a film with a title that suggests marriage between woman and beast? And then post in an attempt to bring down the star rating for this book? Would it be possible that this person has some kind of grudge against the author? That Barbara Payton was what she was is beyond doubt. There is no way of sugar coating her behavior and still keep the integrity of the truth intact. The fact that Tom chooses to drop the PC nonsense and call a spade a spade is quite refreshing in the fake political atmosphere that is choking us today. More power to him. It's nice to have at least one guy who is still able to say what most of us are thinking without having to add “not that there's anything wrong with that” after we say it. Very cool!Oh yes, about half of this book is a reprinted film script of possibly the first draft of the screenplay. There's lots of strange differences between it and the finished film.Note: I went into reading this book figuring that Weaver would answer the question of the ages: What the heck happens at the end of this film??Well, even the great sage Mr. Weaver doesn't know. I say The Succarath (as played with expressive aplomb by Steve Calvert) has killed the Payton character and she's already dead when it climbs the tree and get's plugged. This is not a spoiler because you can't spoil a film that has a denouement that no two film nuts can agree with. The author does make it clear once and for all as to whether Barney (played less expressively by Raymond Burr) physically changes into a succarath or not. He's even got photographic proof in the book. And only our author would have the beans to confront this positive proof of this huge inconsistency to the face of the cantankerous director of this film.I will not spoil that for anyone. Buy this thing and find out.

Robin Hood is a thief and brigand who steals from the rich to give to the poor. Simple enough. But what happens when a thief and brigand is a little too good at his job? The play follows Robin and his band of Merry Men, who accidentally intercept a chest full of 100,000 gold coins on its way to Austria. What they believe to be a great bounty stolen from the land’s wealthiest citizens turns out, in fact, to be a ransom payment for King Richard, who is imprisoned in Austria while on a religious crusade. Robin and his men distribute the stolen gold to the land’s poor. But when Richard’s brother, the oppressive Prince John, finds out that the land’s poorest citizens are quickly becoming distinctly Middle-Class, he is incensed and vows to destroy the man they call Robin Hood. Robin Hood (thief, brigand) is a timely tale that investigates class inequality by turning power upside down—sometimes literally. Rich become poor, weak become strong, women take the helm, and Robin Hood will be forced to question everything he believes. Nothing’s the same as your father’s Robin Hood, except for all the fun to be had along the way.

Robin Hood (thief, brigand), by Andrew Vaught

Review "It is a show that hits its every target with the precision of the legendary archer... Vaught'sscript concisely unpacks a contemporary examination of social justice, class structure and the treatment of the poor within an affluent society. Fear not, however, this is hardly a dull manifesto on economic theories."-The Times Picayune"Written by local playwright Andrew Vaught, this show is a fun,quick-paced adaptation of the classic tale... While there are manyversions of the Robin Hood story, Vaught's mix of humor and socialcommentary makes the show fresh. He manages this by making the bad guyssilly and the good guys sincere (and sometimes silly)."-Gambit Weekly

About the Author Andrew Vaught grew up in Covington Louisiana where he learned how to make theatre in a barn with a tin roof. And wasp nests. He writes plays about monster truck drivers, unwise explorers, and believes firmly in inanimate objects speaking their piece on the stage. His other plays include Possum Kingdom and Major Swelling’s Salvation Salve Medicine Show.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. tickling your funny bone with beautifully crafted stage directions By Kate Bailey Think you know the story? Andrew Vaught challenges everything you think you know in this pleasurable, hilarious play about Robin Hood and his economic burdens. Vaught is clearly a young master of linguistic playfulness, tickling your funny bone with beautifully crafted stage directions, all the while utilizing metaphor to actually make you feel like you are learning something about our current society. The play is creative, insightful, and down right silly! Can't wait to read more from this up-and-coming playwright.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Fun at times, ingenious stage directions, disappointing protagonist By The Lion It's hard to judge a play by its script alone. Admittedly, I haven't seen "Robin Hood: Thief, Brigand" live, and can thus only base my review on the text itself. As such, I hope my words are helpful to those who would like to read this play, but don't have the opportunity of seeing it performed (like me).First of all, the premise of the play is quite funny: Robin Hood and His Merry Men (and Women) looked at from a modern context. Vaught's purpose in doing this, as stated in the introductory notes, is to comment on money and society in a humorous way, and not to cast an "accurate portrayal" of medieval English life or even the Robin Hood legend. The text does this really well, exploring the brass tacks of economic theory in a feudal society in a satirical, Monty Python-esque way. My favorite line is when the Sheriff of Nottingham and three disgruntled lords complain about "cursed economics--a truly dreadful science" (Act I, Scene ii). There are plenty of bandit-shenanigans and woodland escapades, and much else of what one would expect from a tale of the Robber of Sherwood. However, there seemed to be something lacking as far as characterization goes. My impression of Vaught's Robin, instead of being the happy-go-lucky bandit robbing from the rich and giving to the poor, is rather vengeful and morose. For a classic protagonist with his name in the title, his childish and petulant attitude was disheartening. The real heroes of the narrative are actually heroines: Marian, Scarlet (not Will Scarlet, but a woman named Scarlet married to Little John), and Eleanor of Aquitaine, the Queen Mother. While I applaud strong female characters in any play or text, these larger-than-life women are so canny and tough that all of the male folk heroes come across as bunglers or, as I said before, children. Again, this was disheartening for someone who wants to cheer for both male and female protagonists. (Such characterization may be part of Vaught's social commentary, but in any case, for me the impotence of the Merry Men was more deflating than funny).Vaught's writing is quite good. He plays with words in a fun way, and the play was easy and enjoyable to read (many plays are not). His stage directions, interestingly enough, were sometimes the most amusing part of his writing, with references to Pulp Fiction and PG-rated kissing, etc. Vaught could have done with a more thorough proofreader, though--there are some rather blatant grammar errors that are a little grating to the brain. I know this is the script for a stage play and not necessarily meant for casual reading, and I also recognize that this was published on Amazon's CreateSpace, but still . . .What I'd really like to do is see this play performed live, so I can perhaps make a better judgment of the play outside of its own text. Or maybe I could pay the licensing fee and produce a production myself. However, if you're looking for something Robin Hood-related and fun to read, this is a good text to sit down and enjoy.

A play that might help to change your opinion about theater By Aaron Alexius I’m not a professional actor and, if I’m honest, plays haven’t always been my favorite form of literature. Sometimes they feel stuffy and dated, and while I’ve had theater experiences that have been interesting, I wouldn’t have called those experiences fun.Now I have to stop saying that, because this playwright is a different kind of bard. I took a date to see Robin Hood (Thief/Brigand) at one of their outdoor events. It was hilarious! My date and I had such a good time; we kept talking about it into the evening. What I like about what Vaught does in Robin Hood (Thief/Brigand) is that he takes one of my favorite classic tales and makes it relevant to today’s socio/political climate. And that could have been like some of that theater I mentioned earlier, but here it’s clever, it’s tongue and cheek, and it’s still has a strong intellectual core. That’s a hard line to toe, but Vaught does it well.

The quotes bring you closer to understanding one of the true geniuses in American entertainment. The quotes are facinating, and humorous, and some are quite profound. This is a great book for any writer, or speaker to draw from, and it is historically educational. If you are a fan of Disney, or just curious about a figure in the world of entertainment who achieved greatness and had a solid philosophy of entertainment, then you will enjoy this book.

10 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Read it and you'll find gems By Joel L. Gandelman Kids growing up these days lose sight of the fact that Walt Disney was, above all, a man and not just a brand name. He followed his dreams, even though many tried to discourage him, told him his ideas would never work and he stuck with his dreams... even resolutely going through a bankruptcy. The Quotable Walt Disney is just that: quotes. But if you're interested in what made the man who founded an empire (with a little help from a mouse he saw one day) tick...then you need to buy, read and even underline this book. True, these ARE quotes. And, true, as a former journalist (who is now a ventriloquist) I recognize a lot of "statements" in there -- pro forma quotes given to journalists, self-serving statements, etc. But there are also tons of gems. There are inspring quotes you can go back to and read again and again. I'm going to read it again and mark the ones I want to go back to, and paperclip them. Some entail the importance of determination; others such qualities as open-mindedness, the importance of surrounding yourself with capable colleagues, the wonder of finding inspiration for creativity in the least likely places. Yes, this IS a book of quotes. A small book. But it'll save you LOTS of time if you "listen" to Walt in this compact book, rather than having to read the many (and sometimes bad) biographies about him. And amid the formal statements given in countless interviews you'll find true gems. Like any gem, you can look a jewel of quote in wonder again and again. If you apply these gems in your life, it will be worth far more than the price of this quote-filled book.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. I LOVE By RaR Words cannot describe how in love with Walt I am! The books is what it says it is; a bunch of quotes divided into chapters of his professional or social life and some of the quotes make you wonder why anyone would even document them but others make you truly appreciate the magic and inspiration that is Walt. I loved it but I can see why many people would think it was a waste.

Born to mentally unstable parents, Rachel Moran left home at the age of fourteen. Being homeless, she became a prostitute to survive. In Paid For, she describes, with intelligence and empathy, the fears that she and others had working on the streets and in the brothels. She also speaks to the psychological damage that accompanies prostitution and the estrangement from one's body. At the age of twenty-two, Moran escaped prostitution. She has since become a writer and an activist.

28 of 32 people found the following review helpful. Required reading for anyone interested in the debates on prositution By Maureen Master Rachel Moran has written not just a moving memoir, but also a powerful critique of the sex industry, and the callous notion that prostituted persons consent to their abuse. She aptly demonstrates how those who benefit from prostitution (pimps and johns --- or prostituters, as she calls them) prey upon the least powerful and the most marginalized, profiting from their desperation, poverty, youth and prior experience of abuse to reap profits for, and satisfy the desires of, those who are positions of power over the prostituted. Anyone who believes prostitution is a consensual act between equal parties needs to read this book. Some truly horrible policies are being promoted right now that seek to legalize and normalize the abuse of prostitution (in the name of human rights, no less!) If you're interested in sound policies on prostitution, listen to survivors and read this book.

21 of 24 people found the following review helpful. Shocking but inspiring By David Gordon This is a deeply personal and moving account of a woman who was forced into prostitution at a very early age, but survived to tell the tale. Rachel Moran's memoir is a simultaneously heartbreaking and uplifting story that will both shock and inspire many readers. This book reveals the appalling and demoralising conditions that many prostitutes are forced to endure, and the quiet despair that many of them experience. `Paid for' is a passionate and thought-provoking account of the oldest profession in the world, and will surely generate considerable debate about the future of this sordid industry. This book is absolutely essential reading for anybody interested in basic human rights and dignity.

17 of 19 people found the following review helpful. VERY BRAVE By Jennifer B Bilek This is a must read for all those third wave feminists getting the idea that getting paid for sex is in some way empowering. This is a heart wrenching and believable account of what the real costs are to being a sexual commodity. It is not up-in-your-face but quietly harrowing as I imagine the actual experience of being a prostitute is. It is honest and so brave. This is a necessary book for young women today who are getting the message (in mainstream media no less) that being paid for sex is glamourous, high-paying and a choice. This book will give you a birds-eye view of the reality and the pain inherent in selling your body. I applaud the author.

At 118 pages, this is our biggest issue yet! Our title review this ish is Richard Glenn Schmidt’s affectionate appraisal of the notorious Euro-trash cinema classic LADY FRANKENSTEIN (1971). Daniel Best gives us “Frankenstein, The Australian Connection (Pt. 2)”, the latest instalment of his fascinating ongoing look back at governmental censorship imposed Down Under on movies in Universal’s Frankenstein series; this issue, he mostly discusses events from the 1940s. In “Cracking THE GLASSHEAD”, pop culture archaeologist Stephen R. Bissette cracks a long-lost late-’90s indie horror ultra-rarity wiiiide open, really digging deep into the archives in the process. This M! exclusive includes a never-before-published interview with the elusive movie’s director, Matthew Smith. But wait: this is only Part 1 of the article, and there’s still more to follow in MONSTER! #18! Elsewhere in this our 17th issue, howlin’ Troy Howarth contributes the second and final part of his personally-slanted article “My Favorite Lycanthropes”, in which he pits those oft-compared 1981 wolfman flicks AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON and THE HOWLING against each other in full-on furry fury! Tim Paxton dwells at some length on the ZAPATLELA “killer doll” duo (1993/2013) from India, while Steve Fenton covers two zany Mexi-monster parodies, EL CASTILLO DE LOS MONSTRUOS (1958) and LOCURA DE TERROR (1960). Our hefty review section also includes write-ups on NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST (1958), THE BONE SNATCHER (2003), HUMANOIDS FROM THE DEEP (1980), THE MANITOU (1978), the DECOYS duo (2004/2007), THE BORROWER (1991), CARRY ON SCREAMING (1966), DARKLIGHT (2004), SEPTIC MAN (2013), CLOWN (2014), plus the Hong Kong horror THE PARK (2003) and another Indian horror, DARR @ THE MALL (2014). Other contributors to this issue are John L. Vellutini (a former M! contrib from the zine’s original 1980s incarnation, making a belated return to the fold), as well as Neil D’Silva, Michael Elvidge, Eric Messina, John Harrison, Christos Mouroukis, and, last but by no means least, Les Moore. As always, in-depth video availability for films covered is included in our back pages.

Bissette's heavily researched article on the "Lost" film THE GLASSHEAD (1998) should win him a Rhondo Award™ next year. If it doesn't, consider him robbed. The rest of the zine is jam-packed with reviews and interviews with Monster films and the people who make them. This is still one of my top DIY zines of all time. People are foolish if they don't buy a copy. And let me make this clear to all the haters out there: I in no way have anything to do with MONSTER! besides being a huge fan. It's not often you see a regularly-published professional-looking zine (with no advertising) filled with so much information, so if you are a fan of films containing monsters from around the world (that is all this zine deals with), you can do no better than buying any issue of this zine. I guarantee you will learn something new in every issue. I just wish that they would offer subscriptions, but that would do nothing but delay every issue (And I, for one, understand that completely). For a quick look-up of every issue Amazon offers, type "Tim Paxton" in the search bar.

When Mastin Kipp found himself at rock bottom—addicted to drugs and parties, living in the tiny pool house of his ex-girlfriend’s parents, jobless, and with nowhere to go—he looked to the divine for help. What he found moved him from a life filled with the excesses of Hollywood—as a manager in the music industry—to one powered by self-acceptance and service. To spread the love beyond his personal circle, Mastin started his Twitter account, @TheDailyLove (now with more than half a million followers), and his popular website, TheDailyLove.com, which features writers from many walks of life—from Russell Simmons to Wayne W. Dyer. Now Mastin has written a book based on his spiritual experiences in order to help other young seekers discover their own paths. In Daily Love, Mastin shares some of his personal stories of darkness and light, embracing them all as part of his journey to becoming who he really is. He also speaks of various spiritual leaders who have influenced his life, such as Joseph Campbell, Caroline Myss, Tony Robbins, George Lucas, Oprah, his parents, and Jenna (his girlfriend). Giving details about the concepts and spiritual principles they put forth, he shows how these people have helped to guide him to success.

By Scott Raske As irony would have it, a former girlfriend (toxic relationship) turned me on to The Daily Love a few years ago and without a doubt, it is the best thing that I took out of that relationship. The Daily Love is one of the few emails I look forward to and read every day, Mastin's writing style and messages resonate with me, very down to earth. I've read most of the books that he references in his book and respect his journey and honesty. I admire his ability to articulate that journey in a way that, at least for me, really works. The book itself flows nicely, it's an interesting story. My only criticism would be the chapter dedicated almost solely to his expression of his love and devotion to Jenna. I'm sure it is heartfelt and I'm also convinced she must be a wonderful person, but to me it seemed a bit over the top.Otherwise, I feel like I took a lot of positives away from this book, particularly the call to action, massive action, which I hope to execute in my own life

By Sam Wilson Mastin is a master at inspiring the heart! He knows just the right words to encourage the soul to step out of its comfort zone and encourage the heart to venture to the unknown. I have been following Mastin since his first appearance on Oprah's Super Soul Sunday. His spotlight is shining brightly as he reminds us to become our own hero and face our fears with anticipation of the lessons we will learn. I have long believed the UNIVERSE sends us what we need at the very moment we need it. The insight and thoughts provoked by his questions challenged me to look for deeper meaning in my own life. This is book that will stand the test of time and remain on my favorites shelf. I send a standing ovation to Mastin! BRAVO my young friend your wisdom is apparent. I would rather have given you 5 hearts Daily Love: Growing into Grace, by Mastin Kipp

This book is not a biography and it is not about the "misadventures" of filming the movies. That book and film (Nightmare of Ecstasy / Ed Wood) have already been done. This is a film by film analysis of Woods movies. This type of filmography is my favorite form of film writing because it allows me to refer to the book easily as I happen to watch the movies. Another favorite would be Universal Horrors by Weaver and Brunas. The text itself is enlightening, informed, and opinionated. Just the way I like it! There actually are some misadventures of filming stories in the interviews in the back of the book.

Yes, there's lots of information in regards to each film…but it reads more like an extended TV guide rather than a book with lots of behind the scenes info. or real stories in a biographical style. I was looking for more. Once again, for what it is and what it has, it's fine. But it's not really "biographical" and that's what I was looking for. It says "Misadventures," but to me, that word is misleading in the title.

Good Reading By patricia johnson Well organized and since he was my Great Uncle (married my Grandfather's sister), I fell qualified to comment about his life. I appreciated her approach to her subject and enjoyed reading the various newspaper coverage. The world appreciated hero's then much more then today. Being in service has never been easy, and sadly, not appreciated as much as it should be in our Country.
