This book is not a biography and it is not about the "misadventures" of filming the movies. That book and film (Nightmare of Ecstasy / Ed Wood) have already been done. This is a film by film analysis of Woods movies. This type of filmography is my favorite form of film writing because it allows me to refer to the book easily as I happen to watch the movies. Another favorite would be Universal Horrors by Weaver and Brunas. The text itself is enlightening, informed, and opinionated. Just the way I like it! There actually are some misadventures of filming stories in the interviews in the back of the book.

Yes, there's lots of information in regards to each film…but it reads more like an extended TV guide rather than a book with lots of behind the scenes info. or real stories in a biographical style. I was looking for more. Once again, for what it is and what it has, it's fine. But it's not really "biographical" and that's what I was looking for. It says "Misadventures," but to me, that word is misleading in the title.
