4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. If you like a good romance - pick it up By Keith Not my usual but we all need a change every now and then, right? "If I Loved You" by Mary J. Williams is the story of two singleton's named Jack and Rose (Sound familiar). For me, a very easy, fun but predictable read - although one of the things I really enjoyed about Miss Williams writing's is that she has a knack for not sugar coating things. So if you like a good romance it will tug at your heart string - If you like anything else, read something else. This kind of book may not be for me, but that's OK. I applaud the author for her good writing, colourful settings and likeable characters. Definitely recommendable to a " female" friend :P
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Good story but poor editing! By Triple L I wanted to give this a higher rating but....the poor editing held me back! I loved the plot and really enjoyed the characters of Rose and Jack. The story was enjoyable but with all the editing errors it was hard for me to want to continue reading. Why do authors not take the time to have their manuscript properly edited or at least proofread before publishing. This book had plenty of extra words that didn't belong, poor sentence structure, etc. This is a big pet peeve of mine. Maybe the author can make sure her other books will be correctly reviewed!

Rose feels she is unable to love...due to events in her childhood...plus if she gives her heart to someone then she stands the chance to get hurt. She sure doesn't want to hurt.Then there is Jack. He worked his way up from nothing and now wants for nothing. He has been a player and feels when the right one comes along he will know. Then he meets Rose! She is THE one. He knows he has to be patient and understanding. But trying to get through to her is like breaking down a brick wall. But he is determined.I love the characters and the flow of the story. The two best friends of Rose are Tyler and Dani and they are more like her family. Looking ahead the next book in the series is about Dani. I hope after that we get Tyler's story with or without Drew.This is a stand alone so don't worry there is no cliffhanger. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
