About the Author NoahDavid Lein studied literature, education, theater, and creative writing at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. He moved to Florida to share his love of story-telling with high school students, where he wrote "Murder at the Shootin’ Show!" and "The Last Lafaye." By Samario Lein is at it again!This show is fantastic from start to finish, with a great story and just the right amount of nods to pop culture and classic tropes to get the ideas across to the audience. At times the characters can come across a bit verbose, with a long monologue or two, but this gives the audience plenty of time to eat and digest their food as they digest the exposition. The story delves deeply into what makes family a family and the divides that can exist when we ignore those we love. With well researched and placed facts about New Orleans and its history, it is clear that the playwright did their research and it brings an element of realism to a show that toys with the supernatural.The characters in this show are all well developed and the writing gives the characters plenty of information to be able to improvise with the audience and make them feel a part of the production! While most dinner shows are comedic, this show is a great blend of comedy and dramatic elements to keep the audience entertained and sitting on the edge of their seats until the very end!
