I used to ponder the age-old thought “If I knew then what I know now . . .” or the ever popular, “If I had it to do all over again . . .” Then came a day where I realized that if I had the choice to do it all over again, knowing what I know now, I’d most likely pass. I like who I am. I love my life. I live without regrets. If I were to change the parts that were difficult or mistake-laden, I might not be the man I am. To wish away the past cheapens the journey. This life and our spiritual journeys run concurrently. It isn't about the end of the journey but about how you travel it. If it was all about getting to the end, what are we doing here? I was in my mid-20s when I began my spiritual journey. The latter of which is contained in this book. Sometimes I think back to that 23-year-old guy and replay his life in my head…replay his journey. I wouldn't change any of it, but I would like to leave him a few letters along the way. I’d like to tell him that the pain he will experience is necessary to root out the darkness that was in his soul. I’d like to tell him that he’s more jaded than he realizes and that it’s okay; it’ll work its way out in time. I’d also like to tell him he will find love and fulfill his life’s dream of being a daddy. But mostly I’d like to watch from the perspective of knowing that the next 7 years pan out well because at the time they sure felt like hell. Of course there is always a chance that this is just a dream and I will awake and go get tickets for opening night of The Phantom Menace. In which case I will get to live out those aforementioned age-old thoughts. But probably not . . . All of what you will read is a chronological account of my journey, as it was happening. Raw, uncut, real. This is my journey through My Eyes.

This book gives a geek's insight, with the use of very popular franchises and references that many people can recognize, into the view points of a man learning who he is and being ok with that, faults in all!The author also provides a much needed point of reference for young men to turn to when confused or challenged with many common issues or thought processes in today's world. And he speaks to the reader on the level of a peer and not as someone that has "climbed that mountain".As a whole I would recommend this book to parents of a "twenty something" as well as any man (or woman) desiring to understand the "twenty something" male in their life. It is a great read full of humor and insight and well worth the very cheap price!
