1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A nice easy read By stormcloud96 Sometimes I got frustrated along with Charlotte and sometimes I got frustrated with her. It is a great love story for modern times. Also felt it was a wake up call for those who are quick to judge. Further evidence that what happens in our youth can have a lasting affect. Rather than brush this aside, or try to move past it, it would be great as a society and allow people do what Charlotte does and seek out and get healing. Rather it's the route she took, or another one. Suppressing emotions or self-medicating with things such as alcohol should not be our main long-term solutions for these issues. The other characters were also mostly like-able and relatable.

This book relays Charlotte’s story in an interesting, compelling, and inspiring way. It keeps you guessing along the way and if you’re anything like me, you are going to become one of Charlotte’s biggest cheerleaders, cheering for her along the way and hoping she makes it through to that magical place—the place where she honors who she is, loves who she is, and knows a bit more about love.With the help of an amazing friend, Andrew, and becoming a bit more aware from the more challenging friendship she has with her childhood friend, Heather, Charlotte goes through an array of emotions that many of us can relate to. Chances are that many of us have been down similar paths and we can understand how much someone’s head can spin in their pursuit of the “enchanted life” and “perfect love.”One last thing that I really enjoyed about this book was its holistic approach to addressing life’s biggest challenges. The answers and abilities really do lie within us all and how we come to that realization can often be quite the complex journey.

Charlotte lives alot in her own headspace, that at times made me cringe at why she acts as she does, it's like I know someone and have loved and love someone with many similarities to Charlotte and this is what is intriguing about Behind red lips, it's like stepping directly into her shoes the reader becomes a voyeur of her conquests, watching her fumble, sometime comically through life. She lives for love. Yet grasping it seems to be a bit of an ordeal. Nearly every man who comes within her range is a target for her infatuation as she learns to cope with the loss of an old flame who she envisages around every corner. This is a good read for those who have loved,lived and continue to look on the bright side of life with all it's quirky moments.
