By Ashley Goldberg The problems that inmates have to deal with like hate from each other and guards is real and very deadly as well. Nothing about prison is reform. Con Man The Making of a Monster shows how someone going in can leave a monster by the things you have to go through. It touches some very real issues of prison in a realistic way but in a fiction drama form. That is why this book is so good, it touches issues a lot want to sweep under the rug because it is a hard topic to deal with . Most people don't understand how bad the prison system is and all the hate that is within it. Yes, Con Man The Making of the Monster, has some hard and controversial topics within it but it has to come to light before anything can change. Some people are innocent and some have done minor crimes even if they are guilty no one deserves to go through the hell they do. 90% of people who go in prison come out worse. A lot get the same symptoms of soldiers that go to war, they often come out with post traumatic stress disorder. Great book highly recommend it.

I live far far away from the USA and through the wonders of Facebook, meeting people and forming linkages, I have arrived at this book Its a sad biting wonderful read. How good are we in our society at killing people slowly for no reason? we are perfecting the art. Viciously. Mr. Bennett's book reminds us of our failure on every level to care for our fellow people. The glaring mistakes we make and keep making for no reason at all show us how they fail because the victims are mounting up! And we keep victimising them. Thank you Mr. Bennett for your forthright honest writing. It should be in every book club, every high school, every politicians reading list right now. In every country.I look forward to the sequel.

Mele This is the author's first book and although there are some technical difficulties, he definitely shows a talent for how to spin a good yarn. The author promises that this is the first of a series and I'm looking forward to the next installment!
